carpentry & form setting
If you are interested in this division you will be learning how to set forms for driveways, sidewalks, and patios. You will learn how to figure elevations for steps and landings. And, you will learn all of the City Home Building Codes and Proper Set Back Measurements for each subdivision. This division will educate you on grading, leveling, compaction of soils and granular fills. You can then figure heights for basement and garage floors, understand drill and pin locations, structural supports, and supportive footings. Here you will be working with a 5-man crew where you will gain a lot of knowledge from experienced help. In this field, you can achieve a foreman and operator status for your long-term goals in our company. You will be guided through all of these areas.
pouring & finishing
In this division, you will start as a laborer working with a team of experienced employees eager to train you to a helpful hand. As a laborer, you will be introduced to new concrete tools. Working in this division will train your eyes for flatness, as well as drainage and fall. You will be in charge of tool placement for each job from start to finish. To become a concrete finisher, you will put yourself to the test with your hand and eye coordination. As a laborer or a concrete finisher, you will receive a great amount of accomplishment doing a good quality job. This skilled trade creates a great amount of pride when you leave a professional finish behind with a product that can outlast your lifetime. Doing a quality job will result in financial security for yourself as well as the company’s reputation.
control joint sawing
This division is an area that you will need to use your multiplication and division skills. You will learn to snap chalk lines to divide concrete slabs into equal squares to control random cracking. This is a carefully executed job as there is no room for error. This job gives you a great source of accomplishment when your saw lines are nice and straight. Also, this division has form stripping detail and restocking lumber at our facility. Control Joint Sawing is as equally important as the other divisions because this is the final stage of our company’s product.
